The Colour Series | Pink

I want to say first off that I messed up the liner and really couldn’t be bothered to take everything off just to fix that! I also used my oldschool foundation routine because this look was filmed before I updated it! ❤ I also filmed a video, its taking a long time to upload though because I am using my phone as a hotspot.

The Colour Series | Purple

Hello again!

I’ve been so busy for the last 3 weeks at both schools and home, that I have had difficulties finding time to do makeup looks to do for the blog, but since I started it I don’t want to just give up, so I make time to do things whenever I can.
Today is the 5th look of the colour series tag and it is purple time. I however didn’t feel like doing a bright lilac or purple look, I wanted to do something dark, vampy and use dark plum colours for it. I want to remind you that I have changed my foundation routine, and I have filmed a video for it, that I will upload next Tuesday and write a detailed blog about it as well.

I love my new foundation routine with this look, it looks so nice with this heavy dark eyes and lips versus the light foundation coverage and the freckles being seen throught it is a beautiful contrast. The Colour Series | Green

Third day of the Colour series Tag! YAY

Hi guys and welcome back, today we’re working with green! I have always loved using green colours in makeup, and when I plan to do very colourful makeup looks I often end up using a green colour! It’s not my favourite colour so I don’t really know why I choose it so often. Unlike the last post this one will be a more wearable look with a few little doodles. I didnt want this look to be smokey at all so there is not much blending going on at all, but it is oh so pretty. MOOD | Week #1 & Starter Kit

Hi you guys!

So I wanted to share with you what I got for my Makeup School starter kit and also tell you a little bit how my first week was.

If you have read my blog you will know I am going to MOOD makeup school in Iceland, I am taking the evening course because I am also attending another school during the day. The school was founded in 2011 so it is a relatively new one, but has been a very popular school since it was founded. They also have relations with MAC Cosmetics and teaches by using their products.

My first day was Monday the 29th of august, I don’t think I’ve ever been this anxious in
quite a while, I was thinking about not going but my sister called me and persuaded me to go. We just learned a little bit about the school and our teacher Harpa, she is such an amazing teacher and a wonderful warm girl, she works mostly in advertisements and TV.
We also told everyone in our group who we were and why we wanted to study at MOOD. Then we got our kits which included everything on this list except the concealers which we got the night after.

Second day was a lot better, I wasn’t as anxious to go there as I was the day before. I learned a little about the skin types and how to prep the skin before makeup application, we got our concealers today. Harpa also used one girl of the group as a model to show us how to apply foundation, shading with bronzer and blush. Then we worked in pairs to practice what we just learned, Me and Eva modeled for each other and I was so nervous because I had never done anyones makeup who didn’t have the same skin colour as I did (Eva is Vietnamese, moved to Iceland and then moved to Denmark), when we finished we decided to do a little eyeshadow practice as well even though we were just learning about the basic skin routines. It was a lot of fun and I don’t know why I was so worried about screwing her makeup up, but she looked stunning! We did a great job on each other and learned a lot.

Third day was really easy for me because I was working on my own makeup so I didn’t have to worry about making someone else look weird! We learned more about basic skincare and basic foundation routine, as well as basic eye shading. Once I finished I was allowed to go and the teacher thought I did a good job!

On the fourth day I was a little more nervous beause I knew I would have a new model, with
a new skin type/colour and eye shape.
We also got a new teacher Þóra who is equally as lovely as Harpa. Þóra works at the theatre and does fashion shows in Scandinavia.
She taught us, eye shading an how to apply eyeliner.
I got paired with Sunna who is actually studying hair at the same school Im at. I was really happy with the look I did on her, the teacher liked it also, although I could have done more shading underneath the eye.

That is my first week of MOOD Makeup School I only go there 4 nights a week, which is both nice and sad haha, Nice because I have more time for my family for one extra day, sad because I just want to be there all the time! I love it there!

#The Colour Series | Yellow

Hiyaaa!

I had a little idea a few weeks ago, I don’t know if this has ever been done before, atleast I can’t find anything like this on the web!

I think of myself as a creative person, I love sitting down and just let the flow start. Sometimes I draw, write, do my makeup, play on photoshop or take pictures/videos or sing, I just love doing anything creative. A few months ago  felt very uncreative unfortunately, I hadn’t done any type of makeup,drawn or done anything creative for a few weeks and I was getting sick of it, when I don’t have time to do these things I get more stressed and anxious (and do I need that in my life…uhmn no!).

So I thought about what could I do that would get my creative brain to start working again….Colours! when I see colour combinations, or multi coloured items somewhere I instantly start thinking “I wonder if I can paint that on a canvas or do as a makeup look?” and the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of creativity are colours! I want to start a series, or a challenge/ tag… whatever, of colours. Each week I will create a makeup look where the dominant colour is in the colour song and write a blog about it, of course I will film a video too, just for fun ;). The makeup looks can be however I want, everyday wear, Fashion, art, minimalistic whatever floats my boat. I created a hashtag on Instagram for this Series/Tag/Challenge so If you want to try this series hashtag with #ItsTheColourSeries and #ItsTheColourSeriesYellow (next week will be red instead of yellow) so I can check out your creations!

Today we are working with yellow! my absolute favourite colour at the moment, which is weird because when I was younger I absolutely hated this colour, I thought it was ugly AF! but now I just can’t get enough of it, its such a happy and bright colour.

I wanted to do something that was wearable, because you don’t really see people walking around weraing yellow makeup, gold yes but never yellow, atleast I never see that! So I sat down turned my camera on and started doing my thang!

Ok  this is where the fun begins! I started by using scotch tape so I would get a nice crisp edge on my eyes. then I applied the eyeshadow base. Im not going to write the whole thing down because I have just put the video on youtube! and you can watch it HERE!

HEY YOU!!!

How are you guys? I hope you guys are good, my self, I’m doing great at the moment. My son Jökull and I have been off school for good 2 weeks now, we’ve been playing outside and enjoying our time together. Soon his dad is going to take some time off work so we can all go together and do something fun as a family! I seriously can not wait!

Also I wanted to show you this look I did the other day, I did film it so you could enjoy it with me! Is it just me or is doing makeup like a drug? it’s just so relaxing and kinda like meditation of some sorts. Hello everybody, how are you today?

 

This weekend I’ve had a lot of me time because my mum took Jökull to my sisters for a little get away, so child free me has been on a netflix and makeup binge, Im starting to miss my boy a little bit but at the same time I know i need this time off for myself, just so I can chill out and de-stress!

Anyways this blog post was not supposed to be about my child free weekend, I did my makeup today and I was so happy with how it turned out that I wanted to show you and do a MOTD post of the adventures of today, I really like this look, it has a hint of purple and is a very soft smokey look which I think really suits me.

HUGE MAC HAUL<3 Vibe Tribe, Lipsticks + More

Hello Beauties! [Picture Album at the bottom of the page!]

Yes I am back! I know I haven’t been active lately but I´ve had to take a few months off just to take care of personal things 🙂 before I start this huge ass haul! I’m just going to mention that I posted a video on my Youtube channel on Monday “Foundation routine + Everyday Makeup look” please check it out and give me a like and a subscribe lovelies!<3 I have also uploaded a video of this haul which you can watch now on my Youtube Channel! its basically called “MAC Haul | itsagustasif” 😀 there I go a little more into the products and show you swatches 🙂

Anyways lets get this show on the road! Earlier in the month my cousin Eydís went abroad to the UK and she was so kind and gorgeous to hook me up with a few bits and bobs from MAC, I spent way more than I intended to but when you can get MAC for a lot cheaper than you can get it in your own country…. you take the advantage of it! Who cares about rent? and what the hell is food for!?

Funny thing before we carry on with this post… Ive never really had any MAC products… I have only bought myself 2 products from them EVER! Yes I know shocking, its such a popular brand, but I am a bargain beauty at heart! And on my 25th birthday my cousin gave me a pigment(Kitschmas) and a lipstick(Silly) from MAC, So that is 4 products Ive ever had from MAC until recently.
So what are the two items I have only purchased from MAC? (before this haul obviously!)
-MAC Paint Pot (I can not remember the name of it though, its been more than 7 years!)
-MAC Eye Shadow in Beauty Marked (I still have it and I bought it on the airport in the UK when I was kidnapping my boyfriend!).

Moving on with whats happening now! So my cousin went to MAC for me and picked up the items I had written down for her, when she got back home she got a big hug and won the heart of her cousin, what a gem she is!
I mostly got eye products like Eyeshadows, Pigments, eyeshadow palettes but I also splurged on some lipsticks and a highlighter, I think I´ll go from least interesting to most interesting (in my opinion) so its just over with!

1. Brushes;
   Ive always wanted MAC brushes but they are really expensive over here and I´ve never had the money to get them, but since Eydís went to London and she has a MAC PRO card she could get them for 30% less or something, well it was ridiculously cheaper! I got 3 brushes, I was going to get more but they weren’t well stocked at the time Eydís went there, but she managed to get me the gorgeous MAC 224, 239 & 221.
2. Paint Pots;
   I used to have a paint pot from MAC when I was like 16-18 I really can’t remember, but I really liked it but I never got around to buying myself another one, so I just got Eydís to pick two up for me! I wasn’t sure what one would be the best for me so I got two, very different ones one in “Soft Ochre” which is a yellow based matte base and “Bare Study” which looks like its more pink toned and is gorgeously shimmered!
3. Eyeshadows
   I have heard amazing things about the MAC eyeshadows, and people often say they would never go back to any other brand when it comes to these shadows, so of course I needed to see what I was missing, because that 4 year old Beauty Marked of mine …. it aint that good anymore! (i mean of course…its gone off). So I got myself 4 pressed shadows in Steamy, All That Glitters, White Frost & Stars ´N´Rockets
4. Pigments
   After receiving a pigment from Eydís for my birthday, I just fell in love with them, they are so amazing to work with and you can do so many things with them, you wouldn’t believe it, I got myself 4 new pigments in the shades Tan, Melon, Vanilla & Platinum

5. Vibe Tribe
   I had to have it! This is the only time I´ve ever gotten excited for a limited line from any brand! The packaging is absolutely gorgeous, it is a Aztec/Native American theme and I love it so much! I have always been fascinated by ancient cultures like the Aztecs, Native Americans and of course Ancient Egypt so I really wanted this range, an it is beautiful! These are the products I was the most excited to receive and I can not wait to try the products. I purchased x2 eyeshadow quartets in “Wild horses” and “Call of The Canyon”, Gleamtones powder in “Dunes at dusk” and x2 Lipsticks in “Arrowhead” and “Pure vanity”
   
6. Lipsticks
   Now I lost control right here when I was browsing MAC´s online shop, I wanted to get EVERYTHING! but I settled down for 7 new lipsticks( 9 new lipsticks with the Vibe Tribe ones) check out the pictures at the bottom of this post to see the lipsticks I got and what their names are!
